Condensing the Topic

There are more than enough issues with our present day culture. But finding something specific enough write on without going on tangents was for me, probably the most difficult part. How do you compact a problem so big into 500 words and insure that all is said that was needed to be? I was able to not only free write but use the concepts mentioned in Ch. 20 where Murray goes through the different sense to find different ways and perspectives to explore the topics and experiences.

This was able to give me both a broader view of the subject and a narrower perspective on what it was that I actually wanted to concentrate on. I was able to focus on my topic by finding out whom and how this cultural problem applies to (ch. 27).

Popular cultural does not float around on its own. It is not a separate entity from our everyday human lives. We shape culture but it also in turn shapes us. This circle of reactions breeds its own problems and issues with directly affect us humans. Not to say that there isn’t a positive side to this but for some reason we tend to over emphasize the negative.

And there again by free writing I was able to develop more ideas and topics from my general topic. These definitely did not narrow the topic but gave me a fresh perspective and way of looking at it.
